Sports and Heritage Cabinet Secretary (CS) Rashid Achesa has opened up over an alleged plan by ODM leader Raila Odinga to have him sacked.
Speaking in Western Kenya on Saturday, the CS pointed fingers at Raila over what he called attempts to undermine his position as a cabinet member.
"Raila is way older than I am. But with all due respect, I want to tell him this: Stop dragging my name everywhere," Achesa warned.

"Give me a break, I am not your equal. His Excellency the President was not stupid to elect me the CS. He knew there were more learned Kenyans, but he decided to give me the opportunity," the CS quipped.
Terming himself as a "son of a peasant", CS Achesa added: "Wherever Raila goes, he tells Western Region leaders that President Uhuru Kenyatta does not want me in the Cabinet since I am a DP William Ruto ally."
"We have one government led by the President and the DP and those are the only people I am going to pledge allegiance to but not you Raila Amollo Odinga. I will never call you Baba!" Achesa told off the NASA kingpin.
Interestingly, CS Achesa was at one time the ODM, national youth leader before defecting to Jubilee - but now he is accusing his former boss of plotting to remove him from office.
Although Raila has in the past clarified that he is outside government as he is still a member of the ODM and NASA, the handshake deal between him and Uhuru has nonetheless caused unrest within the ruling Jubilee Party.
Some legislators have for instance cautioned that Raila is likely to rock Jubilee Party from within causing factions and likely jeopardizing DP Ruto's 2022 ambitions.

While noting that his sentiments may have far-reaching consequences, the CS stated that he is ready to be fired if push comes to shove.
"If Raila has become the appointing authority in this country, I want to dare you Tinga (Raila) wherever you are, come and sack me. I have a young family to look after. I don't have time to politick on propaganda,"
