City Hall has finally spoken on a letter informing Nairobians of a plan to relocate bus stops from the Central Business District (CBD).
According to the letter dated September 15, Nairobi Regeneration Team was planning to take the action by November 1.
The letter purportedly signed by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko also claimed that the exercise would be conducted in two phases.
The first phase would force PSVs from Murang’a County to move to Githurai 45 bus stop by 19th October.
Vehicles from Kiambu County were directed to relocate to Muthaiga and Westlands bus stations October 22.
City hall denounced the letter as a fake circular aiming at duping Kenyans.
Nairobi Regeneration Committee is a task force set up to reclaim the metropolitan’s lost glory and is headed by State House Chief of staff Nzioka Waita.
The team has firmly supervised the demolition of buildings constructed on riparian land within the city.
The committee was formed after a partnership between the National government and Nairobi County.
