KCPE Results to be Out in 4 Weeks – KNEC

Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced that the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results will be out in 4 weeks.

While accompanying President Uhuru Kenyatta, KNEC Chairman Prof George Magoha stated that the selection to join form one would commence immediately after the release of the results.

We are confident that results will be out by end of November. This will be followed by the Form One placement process that will see students report to secondary schools early January next year,” stated Mr. Magoha.

He made the announcement at Uhuru Garden primary school in Nairobi where he, alongside Education CS Amina Mohamed, had accompanied the president for an impromptu visit.

While at the venue, the president witnessed the second-day exam papers opening and interacted with the candidates.

"Do not feel that you are under pressure to do anything that is wrong. Just do the best you can do,” stated the president.

He also assured the students that if they do their best in the examinations, they will have a slot in high school in the coming year.

The president made the visit to signify that the Government is serious towards curbing cheating in the national exams as experienced in yester-years.

Earlier on Tuesday, several teachers were arrested after showing up to collect the papers while drunk.

Similarly, a headteacher was arrested after Narok North Sub-County experienced a hitch of Kiswahili Lugha and Insha exam papers missing.

1,060,703 candidates are sitting for this year's KCPE examinations.
