12 Critically Injured at Kwabira Along Nakuru - Nairobi Highway

21 people were injured while 12 were reported to be in critical condition and battling for their lives following a grisly road accident on Thursday.

The accident occurred at Kwabira along Nakuru - Nairobi highway at the Limuru interchange.

A tweet sent out by the Kenya Red Cross Society revealed that the accident involved a bus and a Nissan matatu.

Early reports alleged that the accident occurred as a result of an illegal U-turn at the dangerous interchange.

Passengers in critical condition were quickly rushed to the nearby Tigoni Hospital.

The Limuru junction accident came less than 24 hours after a bus crashed into pedestrians following total brake failure in Kangemi, Nairobi, on Wednesday evening, leaving four dead and four others critically wounded.

In a separate incident, four people died while three others sustained injuries in yet another road accident in Narok county on Wednesday.

The accident occurred along the newly built Narok-Sekenani road near Ngoswuani trading centre, Narok West Sub County.

Narok County Police Commander Yunis Adan said two men died on the spot while a middle-aged man and four-year-old boy died while undergoing treatment at Narok County Referral Hospital.
