EXCLUSIVE: Yvonne Okwara Returns to Hot 96 FM With a Bang

Citizen TV news anchor Yvonne Okwara will be returning to radio after several years of gracing the country's major TV stations.

Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke, Hot 96 FM's The Hot Drive Show host, Patrick Igunza, confirmed that the revered anchor would be joining his show as a co-host.

Igunza praised his new co-host explaining that she was a respected journalist and that she was everything a co-host can be.

"She is everything, it is like a relaunch, it is going to be dope," Igunza told this writer.

He, however, declined to reveal the fate of his outgoing co-host Anita Raey explaining that it was not his place to talk about her.

Okwara is expected to begin her new job on April 15, 2019.

This is, however, not the first time she is working in radio.

Taking to social media, the poised but firm interviewer revealed that she started her broadcast career 12 years ago at the same station that she has returned to.

“12 years ago, my career began here on the breakfast show. Today I'm back here... Tune in for great fun, talk, laughter and giveaways! Excited!!” she posted.

This comes just months after the anchor sat in for Jeff Koinange who hosts the station's breakfast show, Jeff and Hamo On Hot.
