Cabinet Secretary (CS) Sports Culture & Heritage, Amina Mohamed, impressed the Kenya Sevens rugby team as she joined them for a training session on Thursday.

CS Amina got down and dirty as she joined the Shujaa team while they conducted practice drills at the RFUEA Ground located on the Ngong Road in Nairobi,

"I am learning the moves and the team preparations are in full gear," an excited Amina tweeted after her tryouts.

The Kenya Sevens team was carrying out intense training drills in preparations for the last two legs of the HSBC seven series in London and Paris.

Having held a meeting with the rugby union officials, CS Amina vowed to support the team in her capacity as the CS during all their future engagements.

The team then took her through a few passing drills before handing her a bouquet of flowers in appreciation of her visit.

CS Amina also met with the Kenyan women rugby team who were in intense preparations for the upcoming world cup qualifiers to be held in South Africa.

A meeting held at Kasarani Stadium on Wednesday between CS Amina and the respective heads of all the sports federations had resolved that sports organizations would submit an annual work plan and budget for consideration by the ministry, before the commencement of the budgeting process among other resolutions aimed at ensuring teams had proper support.

She also disclosed that she had recommended that sportsmen and women who excelled in their various disciplines would be given a cash award as well as presidential recognition.

"Deliberations with Sports Organisations/Federations yesterday yielded a positive and progressive roadmap to align our collective responsibilities towards a cohesive and value-driven Sports Management Approach," she tweeted.
