How Uhuru’s Cousin’s Entire Family Was Tied Up for 4 Hours During Robbery

A family of President Uhuru Kenyatta's cousin Ngegi Muigai tested the painstaking life of mobsters in 2013 after thugs invaded their residence in Kyuna Estate Spring Valley.

The Star reported that the two suspects, Brian Ayusi and Paul Bulinda, stormed into the home in December of that year while armed and tied up the watchman.

Muigai's son arrived in the homestead shortly after while on a motorcycle and asked them what they were doing in that homestead but they took him captive as well.

Muigai's wife, in her court testimony, narrated that she got wind of the happenings when she came downstairs and saw her son in the company of the two thugs. She was forced to open the door for the strangers.

Her husband, who was also upstairs, came down when he heard the commotion and the entire family was tied up by the thugs who were ransacking the house.

Ayusi and Bulinda reportedly took all the valuables from the house before they demanded to be taken to a different location by one of the family members.

The entire operation took place for about four hours.

Muigai's son drove the thugs in a Volkswagen to an estate in Kawangware.

“They asked Muigai’s son to drive them and drop them where they wanted to go so they would not hurt them. And that is exactly what happened.

“In fact, these boys were cordial to the victims, no one was hurt. They told their victims to be calm since all they needed was money. There was violence however when they said they would shoot the son 'who was very rude',” stated Justice Ngenye Macharia who was hearing the case.

The thugs were later nabbed and sentenced to death but Justice Macharia reduced the sentence on Friday to 18 years beginning the time they were arrested.

The two had been arrested six years ago and found guilty of three counts of robbery with violence.
