Orengo Stirs Excitement After Witty Advice to DP Ruto [VIDEO]

Siaya Senator Orengo on Sunday hit the nail on the head with a piece of witty advice to DP William Ruto inviting him to the bandwagon headed by ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta to the proverbial Caanan.

In the highly anticipated Raila's visit to the deputy president's turf, the legislator urged the residents to do their best to support the handshake between Uhuru and Raila.

"To our brother, Deputy President William Ruto, I want to invite you to join us in the journey to Caanan. Let's move forward as one nation, under one constitution," Orengo advised much to the amusement of his listeners with some whistling and clapping to his sentiments.

He also went on to urge Senate Majority Leader, Kipchumba Murkomen, to join the bandwagon because he was not willing to leave anyone behind.

"I also have my brother Murkomen in the Senate. I always want you to help me pass this message to him. That he too should join the movement to Caanan, I do not want to leave anyone behind," this sentiment was received full-heartedly with laughter and more claps.

The Siaya senator then added how the agreement between Uhuru and Raila had gone a long way to stabilize the nation after it was shaken by the last general polls.

"I want to tell you that after the handshake, President Uhuru and my leader Raila are in this journey to Canaan. This means that all of us should be behind these two visionary leaders and forge ahead together," he remarked with the audience nodding their approval.

These statements were well-received and dispelled the fears of tensions that many anticipated following the political rivalry between Odinga and DP Ruto.

Sunday's tour of the North Rift was Odinga's first since his March 9, 2018 handshake following an agreement for unity, peace, national healing and reconciliation and nationwide development.

Other leaders present at the event were Elgeyo Marakwet Governor, Alex Tolgos, Cherangany MP, Joshua Kuttuny and Homa Bay Women Rep Gladys Wanga.
