Atwoli Makes Disparaging Remarks Against Ruto

Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli on Sunday, made stinging remarks against Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking at St Christopher Catholic Church in Mavoko, Machakos county, the COTU boss savagely attacked Ruto.

Atwoli watered down the DP's 2022 presidential ambitions stating he is not fit to lead the country.

“I tell Kenyans and assure them that in 2022 we shall have a leader but not Ruto,” Atwoli affirmed.

This is because Ruto had on several occasions, publicly opposed the truce between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The COTU boss further condemned all those against the handshake between Uhuru and Raila, People Daily reports.

Additionally, he declared that those critical of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) would not make the government during the next General Election.

On July 27, 2019 , the COTU chairman, declared his move if Ruto became president in 2022.

“I am ready to leave this country should he (DP Ruto) become the president of this country,” he announced.

The vocal union leader was speaking at the burial of Kenya Engineering Workers Union official, Fredrick Odindo, in Rageng'ini, Siaya County, on Saturday.

Atwoli maintained his recent scathing attacks on DP Ruto, stating that the country's second in command lacked what it took to actually lead the country, the Daily Nation reported.
