Raila Junior Viciously Defends Mother Online

ODM leader Raila Odinga’s son Raila Junior came out guns blazing when a Twitter user unreasonably attacked her mother on Friday, September 27.

Raila Junior responded to a comment made about Ida Odinga while she was attending the launch of an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) hub in Bondo.

Ida was tagged in a tweet explaining her presence at the Bondo event when the comment that angered Raila Junior popped up.

"Arrived in Kisumu this evening in the company of Mama Ida Odinga, ICT Permanent Secretary Jerome Ochieng, Mathare Constituency MP Anthony Oluoch and KBC Managing Director Naim Bilal in readiness for the launch of Rongo Constituency Innovation hub courtesy of area MP Hon. Paul Abuor." read a tweet by one Nichonasir.

The tweet was then quoted by a Joekul who wrote, “Is there anything that Ida contributed? Does she even know what is an innovation hub? Just popping up and hijacking anything done by others. Come up with your own and let the community know that it's your contribution.”

This tweet sent Raila Junior into attack mode as he came for Joekul and defended his mother from the misguiding comment.

Raila wrote,” Pardon you Joekul, but Mrs Odinga #notyouragemate was invited as a female leader, the organizers felt that her presence would encourage you, girls, to take up an interest in ICT. Unless you have a problem with females in that role as well.”

On September 4, Raila Junior was involved in yet another online scuffle when he disagreed with activist Boniface Mwangi over the November 7, Kibra mini polls.

He revealed the Ukweli Party’s Editar Ochieng had no chance in the race eliciting an online battle with Boniface Mwangi.
