Citizen TV MD's Call to Jalang'o That Changed His Life [VIDEO]

During a 2017 interview on Hot 96, Felix Odiwour known to many as Jalang'o, recalled Royal Media Services MD Wachira Waruru's phone call, which changed his life and that of his friend Kazungu Matano aka Otoyo.

While narrating the story to his then co-host Jeff Koinange, the renowned comedian and radio personality stated that his first appearance on the Papa Shirandula show got him the call that would later change his life.

Jalang'o disclosed that he and Otoyo had wanted a role in the show for a long time and had been persistent in asking Jackie Nyaminde aka Wilbroda to help them.

He added that it took some time before they finally got a call from Charles Bukeko, better known as Papa Shirandula.

"One day Papa himself called us at a restaurant in Nairobi and he said that people are starting to ask if he was married to Wilbroda.

"He told us that they wanted to create a dowry scene where friends and family of Wilbroda would present the dowry in Nairobi. He added that Otoyo and I would come as the uncles from home, noting that it would only be one episode," he narrated.

Jalang'o further revealed how disappointed he was that they would only show up for one episode.

"We were not happy but I told Otoyo that when the director said 'camera action' we would make them change their mind," he continued.

The now Milele FM presenter disclosed that on the day they shot the episode, they did their short lines so well that the crew was in stitches.

"I remember all the cameramen laughing as we talked, Papa is under the table, the director is under the table and everyone else is laughing crazily," he related.

He added that after the show, he and Otoyo got a call that would later change their lives.

"Then we received the call from the one and only Wachira Waruru and he sat us down in his office. He told us that we were amazing people and we would not leave the program

"He also said that they would re-write the script that when others were going back home, Jalas and Otosh jumped from the bus," he added.
