Governor Trades Suit for Manual Job [VIDEO]

Occasionally, politicians show less known aspects of their lives to members of the public who get to see them in a different light.

Nandi Governor Stephen Sang on Friday, January 3, shared a video of himself hard at work on a farm.

In the clip, the county head was seen tilling the farm located at Kobujoi with a cow and plough.

"Land preparation in Kobujoi. Ox-ploughing is aesthetic, sentimental and enhances physical activity," the first-time governor captioned the video.

He added that it was a tradition that had remained prominent across generations noting that "The 'drivers' are generally gifted poets and songbirds with amazing wit and voices."

Sang previously served as the county's representative to the Senate before winning the governor seat in the 2017 General Election.

While at the Senate, he served as the chairperson of the Sessional Committee on Delegated Legislation, was the vice chairperson in the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights and a representative of Kenyan Parliament in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

He is the current chair of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee at the Council of Governors and holds a law degree from the University of Nairobi.

Governor Sang is among Kenya’s youngest politicians.
