Update: Felix Odiwour,Jalang'o, announced that his Milele FM co-host, Alex Mwakideu, had managed to garner Ksh 1.6 million in a few hours after the comedian announced that 40 tickets for Mwakideu's birthday were up for grabs.
Milele FM presenter, Alex Mwakideu, who hosts Milele Asubuhi show alongside Jalang'o, will turn 40 years on Friday, March 6, celebrating the milestone in an exclusive birthday party.
His colleague Jalang'o via his Instagram page on Monday, March 2, shared the details of the party, which ignited a debate, after the poster indicated that only 40 guests would be allowed to grace the event, after parting with Ksh 40,000 as entrance fee.
"Are you invited? From 4 p.m to 4 a.m. That Friday will be chaos. Happy birthday bro in advance. Do not even bother if you wanted to pay! The 40 guests have already paid the Ksh40,000 each, "Jalang'o wished, announcing that Mwakideu had joined the 4th-floor club.
The venue of the party was, however, kept under wrap, with the poster indicating that the guests would be surprised with the location.
"Hii ujanja ni kuingia 10 a.m., wakiingia 4.p.m wanakupata ndani (The only way to attend the party is sneaking at 10 a.m.) one 2mbili joked.
"Hapo kwa 40k as entry, lanes heavy j baba.Sisi mtu akisema hata 1k tunaexit whatsapp group... Nacheza kama mimi. (That's a pure show of wealth when the entry is Ksh 40,000. We usually exit our Whatsapp groups when someone invites us to a party with Ksh 1,000 as entry fee," Kwamboka added.
"I hope the entry fee is in Tanzanian currency," Ronny Reagan wondered.
The duo has set themselves apart in the media industry, by venturing into business, earning extra income in addition to their lucrative salaries at the Mediamax owned station.
On Tuesday, March 3, during their morning show, the two spoke in detail on the need to separate yourself while chasing after success, adding that separation wasn't an indicator of hatred, but a definition of sacrifice.
"You can't change the people around you, but you can change the people around you. It's a simple phrase which needs someone to think. Who are you walking with? You can separate yourself and make them better. It's upon you to decide what characters you want to surround you," Jalang'o stated.
"Ending a relationship with you doesn't mean that I'll hate you. It means that I want to surround myself with forward-thinking individuals. I also wish you success in your endeavours," Mwakideu added.
