Milele FM presenter Jalang'o on Friday, May 29, featured how Kenyans had resorted to alternative businesses to survive during the Covid-19 pandemic while at the same time sharing his own personal experience.

In a series on his YouTube Channel, Bonga na Jalas the media personality stated that since the Covid-19 crisis, his opportunities to host events had reduced and so he resorted to finding an alternative to keep the income flowing in.

"Since Covid-19, I can't MC events and so I decided to re-activate my YouTube channel and put out content and just make sure I'm staying productive," he stated.

Jalang'o is arguably one of the most sought after hosts for events in the country. In the month of December, Jalang'o reported having to attend up to nine events in a single weekend.

However since gatherings are not allowed due to the Covid-19 prevention measures, he's resorted to channeling his creativity to his YouTube channel.

Since his re-introduction on the video-sharing platform, Jalang'o's channel has grown to just over 61,000 subscribers as of May 30.

At the same time, his channel was monetised as he was accepted in the YouTube partner program earlier in May. This means he gets paid for advertisements featured on his videos by the technology company.

In the video posted on Friday, May 29, Jalang'o highlighted various Kenyans who'd opted to sell foodstuff and vegetables from their cars at the Nothern Bypass near the Windsor junction.

He interviewed people who'd worked as Uber drivers and had now converted their vehicles to temporary stalls selling cabbages, fruits, and cereals.

At the junction, a number of vehicles had been parked targetting Kenyans who'd prefer to shop on the go and had no time to go to supermarkets.

The radio presenter even bought some of the products on offer including, a bunch of bananas, a tray of eggs, some vegetables, and a kilogram of rice.

"All these Kenyans have decided it is better to come and look for money rather than stay at home and sleep hungry. Come and support them, buy from them," he stated.

He further advised Kenyans to embrace hustles to fend for their families especially in this period.
