TV 47's Chief Executive Officer has opted out of the promising television station.

"Goodbyes! Not so many people if not everyone wish for moments to say them; certainly me included! But these things are inevitable and I have come to that point myself- where I say goodbye to my team at TV47," Anangwe stated on Twitter.

In his statement, Anangwe did not share why he was leaving or where he was headed to.

"I resigned due to personal reasons and I remain proud of my work," he concluded his statement.

Anangwe resided and worked in Rwanda for 10 years before coming to Kenya to take the reigns of the TV start-up.

While resigning, Anangwe urged fellow workmates to uphold the station's vision and to ensure that it became among the top five most-watched stations in the Country.

"Setting up TV47 from scratch was definitely a new challenge and I am happy that I had all of you to help me in building the brand that TV47 is today.

"My plea to all of you is to never let this ship sink. Make it sail on for generations that will come after you so that they can also have a place to practice great journalism and tell the untold stories," Anangwe added.

A number of those who worked with the CEO wished him well in his endeavours.

"You have not lost your passion, your trade and your winning ways Anangwe. Capitalize on the gains you made in the great city because I personally expect more from you and you will bring it to yourself. Good luck," Jesse commented.

"Always found your work to be interesting and engaging. It seems where you land, your work ethic and vision creates new opportunities. Wishing you good fortune on the next chapter," Ryanyewell stated.

"All the best Sir. You made TV47 great," Dagi weighed in.

Previously, Anangwe worked in Rwanda in various media houses including; Contact FM and Rwanda Television.
