Former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe is set to make a comeback in media on Sunday, August 9, a year after she left her former employer, the Royal Media Services.
Announcing the comeback on her social media pages, the news anchor stated that she would bring raw conversations, political and in-depth inspiration through her new show, The Hot Seat.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Maribe disclosed that she had been preparing to launch the show for a couple of months, adding that she was excited it was finally happening.
The show will air on Sundays at 8 p.m. and would be broadcasted on her Youtube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
"I've been busy with among others the project for The Hot Seat, and all I can say is stay tuned for exciting guests and candid, hot, interviews and conversations," she stated.
An experienced political affairs reporter, Maribe divulged, she had not had a difficult too-interview thrown her journey, bearing in mind that she had interviewed several bigwigs in the country, including President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"I'd say I have been lucky enough to not have a hard interview as yet. It is all in the preparation, with your team. It is smooth sailing as long as you are ready...do not let nerves sneak in," she continued.
Maribe alongside her ex-fiance Joseph Irungu were suspects in the murder case of businesswoman Monica Kimani, whose body was found in her Lamuria Gardens home on September 20, 2018.
She would later be arrested and released on Ksh1 million cash bail after spending a month in remand. Irungu, on the other hand, was denied bail at the time. He was released on February 13, 2020 on a Ksh 2 million cash bail.
During the trial period Maribe was barred from reading news, a decision that led her employer at the time to switch her to the editing desk.
She would later resign over 'personal reasons.'
After resigning, Maribe took to consultancy jobs as well as karaoke, something she stated was not a job but a hobby.
"I think there was a misconception about the Karaoke. I genuinely enjoy singing, so I would get invitations as a special guests by various establishments. I wasn't a host, just a guest appearance and it has been fun but with Covid-19 it has been put on hold, understandably," she continued.

In the teaser for her show, Maribe stated that she had not given up on her ambitions.
“You feel like everything is falling into place, and everything is making so much sense… until one day you have no idea what the world just decides to do… Like, literally, a standstill," she stated.
Maribe told Kenyans.co.ke that most people were surprised by her ability to endure through tough times.
"I am more resilient than I look, and I am made of tough skin. I never let things get me down," she declared.
On the other hand, her producer Sarah Mwangi stated that the first show, which would be aired on Sunday, would have Maribe talking about her life experiences as well as her journey as a journalist.
