The 2020 Mashujaa Day celebrations were marked with pomp and colour as leaders trooped to Gusii Stadium in Kisii.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, the chief guest at the event, arrived aboard the Air Force chopper accompanied by the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.
The two were welcomed by several leaders including Deputy President William Ruto and Interior CS Fred Matiang'i.
President Uhuru then climbed into the ceremonial open-top Land cruiser that took him into the packed stadium.
The army-green Toyota Landcruiser with a bulletproof glass surrounding, and C in C as its registration, stood in wait for the Commander in Chief.
Security was tight at the stadium with police from all divisions including horseback riders pictured at the event.
Political leaders shelved their rivalry and differing political ideologies as they came together to mark the day meant to honour the country's heroes.
In the main dais, the Head of State danced alongside his handshake partner Raila Odinga to his right and his deputy Ruto to his left.
Citizen TV's Fred Machokaa and Lulu Hassan led the entertainment segment of the event that saw all the leaders up on their feet in dance.
From Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula to Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, none was left behind as they showcased their dancing skills.
UK High Commissioner to Kenya Jane Marriott also shared some stunning photos from Gusii Stadium.
"Happy Mashujaa Day from a well-organised ceremony at Gusii Stadium, Kisii. Honoured to be able to pay my respects to Kenya’s heroines and heroes," she tweeted.
