Kenya 7s Star Oscar Dennis Involved in Hit and Run Crash

Kenya Sevens rugby star Oscar Dennis was involved in a hit and run accident on Tuesday, November 10 while riding his bicycle.

The incident occurred between 9 p.m and 9:30 p.m at the junction of Bogani and Quarry Lane in Karen before the motorist drove off.

The incident was confirmed by the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) who released a statement on Wednesday, November 11 wishing him a quick recovery.

"We would like to confirm that Kenya Sevens player Oscar Dennis sustained leg injuries after being hit by an unidentified motorist while riding his bike in Nairobi on Tuesday evening.

"He is undergoing treatment and we wish him a speedy and full recovery," read the statement from KRU.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Eric Njiru a journalist from Raga House revealed that the Nondies RFC player sustained serious injuries.

"He suffered an accident on Tuesday in Karen, he was left with serious injuries after the crash. I am yet to gather information on where he is admitted" he noted.

Dennis is fresh from a scintillating performance in the World 10s Series for SX10 where he bagged two tries in the 42-5 win over Miami Sun.

According to reports, the driver took off as Dennis was rescued by one of the security firms on stand by along the road but could not trace the driver.

Appeals have been made to the public to provide information on the motorist or any eyewitnesses who might have been present at the scene of the accident.

Unconfirmed reports state that Dennis is set to be flown to South Africa to undergo specialised treatment on his leg that was severely injured.
