A UK national was accused of biting and beating a Mombasa businesswoman in public in May 2021.

Rehema Gera filed a  report at Nyali Police Station claiming that Thomas Dodds - a tourist - further raided her business and vandalised goods worth over Ksh1 million.

Geria stated that she incurred bite injuries after she allegedly differed with the UK foreigner at her business entity.

"He raided my shop with more than 10 goons, destroyed my property, and carried away some items.

"He has been assaulting and harassing me and three days before the attack, he turned violent on me," the trader told Nation

The duo was reported to have met in August 2020. Geria refuted reports that the tourist has been financing her business arguing that he has only been chipping in.

Dodds, an entrepreneur, owns a food restaurant at Nyali Links Road.

Nonetheless, the foreigner declined to comment on the issue but shared a video clip alleging he was in turn the one assaulted by the coast businesswoman.

He also reportedly shared a photo that indicated that he was nursing forehead injuries.

According to a police report, Geria was charged at a Shanzu Court with theft after being accused of stealing the tourist's towel and electronic equipment valued at over Ksh10,000.

She was also charged with assault and handling stolen property. The court released her on Ksh30,000 cash bail.

The case was forwarded to the Tourist Police Unit (TPU) who launched investigations into the matter.
