Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Saturday, September 4, lashed out at Deputy President William Ruto and his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party over attempts to lock out other parties out of the hustler nation.
The legislator, in a gloves-off approach, also revisited the Kiambaa Church massacre, noting that history is likely to repeat itself if leaders did not learn from past lessons.
Kuria argued that allies affiliated with the DP had hatched a scheme to lock out other challengers out of the 2022 polls race. He rebuked the leaders, pointing out that the UDA outfit could not be the only vehicle to steer forward the hustler nation.
"It is also a fact that UDA is perceived to be dominated by incumbent MPs who are hell-bent to lock out their potential challengers out of the 2022 race.
"Further, a party that has only one MP and two MCAs from Kiambu, Nyandarua, and Nakuru can not claim to have bragging rights to brand all other parties as regional or tribal," he stated.
The lawmaker added that such malice would ultimately take the country back to a one-party state during the KANU regime.
Alluding to this, he noted that those who did not learn from history are doomed to repeat it- recalling the Kiambaa church tragedy in 2007 where a child was thrown back into the burning church.
"It is this lesson that we failed to learn from the warning signals of 1992 and 1997 that led this country to a near armageddon of 2007/2008 General Election.
"If we had learnt this lesson in 1992 and 1997, a child who was thrown from the BOTTOM of a Church UP a window on December 30, 2007, would have survived," Kuria stated.
Kuria simulated the words of the DP affirming that he is a man on a mission to defend the hard-fought democratic gains of the country and would neither yield nor surrender to his rivals.
"UDA is not the only political party in the Hustler Nation Family. Any other narrative is false, outdated, and ill-intentioned," Kuria pointed out.
This is the latest development in the UDA outfit and Kuria saga where the two have, in the past, traded barbs over political differences.
