Bureau of Statistics Announces Paid Interviewers Jobs: How to Apply

The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) has announced paid field interviewers positions.

The government agency that is tasked with the collection, compilation, analysis, publication, and dissemination of official statistical information seeks to hire the candidates to fill in those positions for an upcoming project.

KNBS is planning to conduct the 2022 Kenya Demographic and Health Survey (2022 KDHS) for six months in partnership with other stakeholders.

The post will be on six months contract basis and each county will be allocated five posts.

The field interviewers will be required to report to the supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for data collection for the 2022 KDHS.

Roles

They will be tasked with locating the structures and households in the sample clusters, Identifying all eligible respondents in the selected households, and administering the relevant questionnaires appropriately.

They also are required to check completed interviews to ensure that all questions were asked and the responses were accurately recorded.

They will also be required to provide a link between supervisors and respondents where callbacks are required.

Requirements 

For one to be considered, must be a Kenyan citizen who has completed at least secondary school level of education, with a

minimum of C- (minus) or its equivalent and a Certificate/Diploma. Those with advanced academic qualifications will have an added advantage.

Must be available for a period of an uninterrupted seven (7) months from the date of recruitment. They are also expected to be conversant with the main local language/dialect of the area of work.

Applicants are expected to complete and submit their applications through the KNBS website. Those submitting hard copy applications are expected to attach their application together with copies of academic, professional, and other relevant certificates, transcripts, and testimonials.
