The latest cohort of 150 drivers from Kenya is expected to start working soon after being selected to join the workforce in the Gulf countries.

The drivers were selected through a competitive exercise launched two years ago by Monisa Company with the aim of linking Kenyans with jobs in the gulf countries of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.

The cohort is now expected to go through a mandatory Gamca medical examination aimed at carrying out thorough body and drug tests.

Since the programme started in 2019, several cohorts, including that of 50 engineers among other professions, have already worked in the Gulf and revealed that they enjoyed the job.

The company's CEO Mary Mwema noted that successful applicants are often taken through a financial awareness training to ensure that they do not mismanage their money.

“The contracts for the engineers and cleaners have ended and they are currently in the country but they have expressed willingness to return to Saudi Arabia again,” she noted.

The drivers were given a two-year contract each.

How to Apply

So far, 18 categories are actively recruiting professionals ranging from engineers to sales and representative agents as well as house-helps.

To apply, Kenyans are advised to create an account on Monisa Company through which they can submit applications and share relevant academic and professional certificates.

The applicants are also advised to keep checking their accounts for progress as well as other vacancies posted regularly.

Housemaids are paid a monthly salary of between Ksh 22,000 and Ksh 35,000 while pest control technicians stand to earn Ksh 43,000 and above.

Successful applicants are then taken through a six-month training and most provide a Certificate of Good Conduct before taking up their duties.

Monisa Company is a member of the National Employment Authority (NEA).
