Former Vice President, Kalonzo Musyoka, has pleaded with Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula to reconsider his decision to team up with Deputy President William Ruto and United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Speaking at a function on Monday, January 24, Kalonzo, who is one of the founding members of the One Kenya Alliance (OKA), stated that he and Wetangula had come a long way and it would pain him to see him working with the DP.

"Wetangula and I have come a long way, even if it becomes imperative that my brother Wetangula goes a separate way, it will be painful for me. This is a brother that I have known and I want to ask that he reconsiders his decision. I want to finish this struggle with a person I trust called Moses Masika Wetanugula," he stated.

Kalonzo, however, revealed that he is not worried about Ruto's alliance with Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi.

He noted that Mudavadi's presence in OKA was causing traffic and now that he has left and joined hands with Ruto, the road is clear.

"Mudavadi has not told us if he has left OKA. Ruto said they would go to Nakuru and Rift Valley but the ANC leader has not spoken yet. Anyway, Sunday's events have made the road clear.

"I think my other friends were causing a traffic jam, now the road to State House is clear. Don't be worried, the whole world is waiting for us to get in and this time around we are having conversations directly. We are not using brokers," he stated.

On Sunday, January 23, Kalonzo, KANU's Gideon Moi and businessman Jimi Wanjigi walked out of Bomas of Kenya after MPs allied to DP William Ruto and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) made a grand entry.

The three leaders stormed out without a word leaving delegates present with unanswered questions on their minds.

A statement that was released by OKA coalition's spokesperson Fredrick Okango, stated that Kalonzo and Gideon had no option but to storm out of the event, following the arrival of DP Ruto and his UDA entourage.

OKA also confirmed that they have officially parted ways with Mudavadi following his newfound alliance with Ruto.

"Unfortunately, we have to part ways since some of his friends are not our friends and we are unsafe with them. We are therefore moving to higher grounds where Kenyans are safer. It is time to move forward, it is time to end the nasty political games.

We would like to wish Hon. Mudavadi the best of luck as he joins his other partners. There is no room for damages," the statement reads in part.
