Besieged One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals Gideon Moi and Kalonzo Musyoka have revived the outfit with a new partnership that incorporates NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua.

The Kenya National Union (KANU) on Wednesday, January 26, unveiled a poster announcing a joint campaign tour by Gideon, Kalonzo and Karua. The event will be held in Kitui County on Thursday, January 27.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, KANU's Secretary for Political Affairs Frederick Okango, affirmed that the NARC-Kenya party leader was an equal principal in the OKA regime.

"Yes, Karua is a partner in OKA and that is an equal principal in the alliance. She is the party leader of NARC-Kenya. So they are equal partners.

"OKA was formed before Martha joined - she and Speaker Justin Muturi have come in under the Mount Kenya Unity Forum. Remember the Mt Kenya forum proposed Karua as their spokesperson. OKA is the biggest coalition and many more are going to join" he pointed out.

Earlier in the day, Kalonzo held talks with KANU Executive Director George Wainaina, Justice Aaron Ringera, and former Head of Civil Service Francis Muthaura in a bid to work together towards a unified front.

The development came after former OKA principals - Musalia Mudavadi of ANC and Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) ditched the alliance and formed a new partnership with Deputy President William Ruto.

In the event that shocked the country's political realm, dubbed Mudavadi's earthquake, the ANC party leader walked in at the Bomas of Kenya with DP Ruto in tow. Previously, Ruto's brigade had arrived at the highly anticipated event.

This seemingly irked Kalonzo and Moi, who stormed out of the event minutes before it officially began. Issuing a statement thereafter, Okango entailed that they had officially parted ways with Mudavadi and Wetangula due to the new alliance.

“We (OKA) have today walked out of Mudavadi's 'earthquake' meeting. Our principals Hon Kalonzo Musyoka and Hon Gideon Moi out of respect honoured his invitation as a co principal to attend the Bomas event and congratulated him for being nominated by his party to go and look for more friends.

"Unfortunately, we have to part ways since some of his friends are not our friends and we are unsafe with them. We are therefore moving to higher grounds where Kenyans are safer,” read part of the statement.

Kalonzo recently affirmed that the OKA regime is still strong and would continue despite claims that the alliance was on its deathbed after the earthquake meeting.
