Police have launched investigations after four bodies were found dumped at Kijabe Forest in Kiambu County over the weekend.

The four bodies, which were discovered on Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19, had deep cuts and missing private parts.

The police were first informed of the existence of the bodies after Lari residents made a formal complaint.

The first body was found on Saturday before three others were recovered on Sunday.

Confirming the incident, Lari Police commander Adamson Furaha noted that investigations are already underway to track down the killers believed to have been behind the torture.

The individuals are believed to have been killed elsewhere before their bodies were dumped into the thicket.

“We suspect that the four were killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped within this area.

“All the four bodies had deep cuts to the neck and chopped private parts. We are now scared because this is new to this area,” One of the residents, Philip Kamau, told Nation.

Bodies of the deceased were transferred to the Embu Referral Hospital mortuary.

This comes a year after a similar case puzzled the country's law enforcement after bodies of four friends were found dead in Kitengela after eating lunch.

The quartet, Bian Oduor, Jack Anyango, Elijah Obuong and Benjamin Imbai were allegedly kidnapped after eating lunch at a popular club in Kitengela.

It was later established that the four had been mistaken to be cattle thieves when they were attacked.
