Interior Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho, has launched a fresh scathing attack against the Kenya Kwanza presidential running mate and Mathira Member of Parliament, Rigathi Gachagua.

During an interview on KTN News on Wednesday, August 3, Kibicho intimated that Gachagua was suffering from selective amnesia after the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) strongman previously denied workin in Molo district as an administration officer.

Kibicho stated that Gachagua was a sick man and could not remember that he once served the government.

According to the PS, the first-time MP cannot be trusted with the Office of the Deputy President since he cannot remember where he worked before.

"He needs a doctor because of the lies coming out of him, he does not look like a normal person. It is on record Gachagua worked in Molo but cannot remember because he is sick," Kibicho stated during the interview.

The PS referred to the MP as a "pathological liar" and challenged him to tell Kenyans why he was fired from public office and not resigned as claimed.

"I am the PS Interior and I am telling you that Gachagua was sacked from Ministry of Interior for abstention. He never resigned."

"He was fired for desertion of duty and mismanagement of relief food, and I have evidence to support what I am saying," Kibicho stated in yet another interview on Gukena FM on Thursday, August 4.

Kibicho further claimed that Gachagua was later posted as a special District Officer to North Eastern but refused to report to work.

In an interview on NTV in May this year, Deputy President William Ruto's running mate brushed off claims from the opposition camp that he was combative and forceful during his tenure as DO in Molo under the reign of the late President Daniel arap Moi.

He refuted claims of ever serving in Molo or the larger Nakuru county. At the time, the area faced political conflict during the onset of multi-party democracy and this saw over 5,000 people killed and over 75,000 others displaced.

“I want to put it on record. My file number at the Office of the President is PF611592. I served in Kirinyaga, Kiambu, Laikipia, Garissa, Turkana, Kakamega and in the Office of the President in Nairobi. I have never served in Nakuru, leave alone Molo,” Gachagua stated in May.

Kibicho asked the MP to stop peddling lies about chiefs and sub-chiefs being used by the government to hoodwink voters into their opponents' camp.

Gachagua recently claimed that chiefs are being used by the government to influence people in their administrative units into voting for Azimio.

The attacks come on the heel of an intensified political rallies from both coalitions, Kenya Kwanza and Azimio La Umoja, as the campaign period hits fever pitch ahead of the August 9 polls.
