Nairobi Hotels that Have Reaped Big From President Obama's Visit

Major city hotels have for the last two days reaped big from US President Barack Obama’s visit to the country.

Reports indicate that five star hotels within the city are currently recording brisk business from the estimated 3,000 visitors who include business moguls, celebrities and foreign government officials attending the Global Entrepreneurship Summit which ends today.

A Nation report indicate that that the Serena Hotel, Hotel InterContinental, Laico, Safari Park, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Norfolk, Sankara and Kempinski have registered full bookings, with most of the guests said to be Americans.

The Sarova Stanley Hotel in the cemtral business district, on Friday night, posted a photo of American musician Akon standing beside the hotel’s general manager Paolo Marro.

The Intercontinental Hotel has also been under tight security so has been Villa Rossa Kempinski in Westlands which has technically been a no go zone since Friday afternoon after roads around the seven star establishment were barricaded.

The US President toured the country to co-host the global entrepreneurship summit and to hold bilatera talks with the Kenyan government.

Obama leaves the country later today.
