Lulu Hassan is a popular media personality who works for Citizen TV as a news anchor.

Hassan and her husband Rashid Abdalla co-host the prime-time edition of Citizen TV’s swahili news bulletin Nipashe Wikendi on Saturdays.

She is one of the most polished journalists and news anchors in the country.

She has previously worked at several small media stations including Radio Salaam in Mombasa, Kenya Television Network (KTN) before eventually moving to Citizen TV Kenya.

Besides her thriving media career, Hassan is also passionate about film and co-owns a film company, Jiffy Productions, with her husband.

The production stable has produced some of the most memorable hit shows in recent years such as Maria.

Her contributions to the media and film industry have earned her several accolades including Tuzo ya Mwanamke Wa Shoka which recognises women who have played pivotal roles in various industries.

Lulu alongside her husband Rashid Abdalla bagged the Best Producer award in the TV Drama award category during the Women in Film Awards (WIFA) 2021.

Lulu is also dynamic and multi-talented. In 2021, she was selected to emcee Madaraka Day celebrations.

Lulu’s background was in Tourism having trained at the Travel Operations College. Nonetheless, since making it in the media industry, she has since pursued a degree in Communications and Journalism.
