After close to two decades of bossing the Kenyan music industry, popular Afropop boyband Sauti Sol, who have since launched their own solo careers held one last sold-out concert in Nairobi on November 2 and November 4.
The Sol Fest, described as the last dance, was a milestone event that served as a tribute to arguably the most successful Kenyan band of all time.
The boyband is made up of vocalists Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Savara Mudigi and guitarist Polycarp Otieno with Bien-Aime Baraza being one of their best-performing stars.
Bien-Aime Baraza is one of the most influential figures in the world of Kenyan music. As one of the founders of Sauti Sol, he has played a significant role in nurturing the careers of numerous artists and bringing their music to the forefront.
Immediately after the split, Bien released the album Alusa Why Are You Topless?
The album, whose singles include ‘Ma Cherie’, ‘My Baby’ featuring Arya Starr and ‘Too Easy’ featuring DJ Edu, became an instant hit not only in Kenya but in the African continent.
