Winnie Odinga

Winnie Odinga is the daughter of opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The 33-year-old is currently serving as a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

Even though Raila lost, Winnie played a major role in her father’s campaign in the 2022 presidential election, serving as his personal assistant and helping formulate communication strategies.

However, she eventually ended up facing criticism from Azimio diehards who blamed her for being among insiders who contributed to the former Prime Minister’s loss.

She has also been her father’s trusted confidant and was among the few people who knew in advance of the looming handshake between Raila and former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Aside from politics, Winnie also owns a thriving communications consultancy business known as Brickhouse Counsel which she set up in 2017.

Since being established, the company has worked with various companies, organisations and governments. It has also been tapped for 5 presidential campaigns within the African continent.

Winnie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Corporate Communication & International Business & Economics from Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA.

She also has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the United States International University (USIU) in Kenya.
