State House Puts Up Govt Vehicles on Auction

The Office of the President is among three State institutions looking to dispose off vehicles through a public auction.

In the Tuesday issue of the MyGov publication, the Office of the President revealed that it will be seeking to offload unserviceable motorcycles, tyres, car batteries, rims and other assorted items.

"The prospective bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit of Ksh50,000 payable in the form of cash at the cash office, Executive Office of The President - State House in Nairobi during normal working hours."

"Interested bidders may obtain further information by visiting tenders.go.ke and president.go.ke to download a catalogue containing details of the venue, items to be auctioned, conditions of sale and date of viewing," read part of the notice.

The auction will be held on June 14 starting from 10 am at the State Department for Roads in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

Other government institutions seeking to dispose off items include; The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) and the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

NPSC put seven government vehicles on auction with the reserve price as low as Ksh80,000. The vehicles include; 2 Land Rover Discovery 4, Suzuki G/Vitara, Renault Fluence, and 3 Nissan Navara.

Additionally, NPSC is also seeking to dispose of telephone heads, UPS and scanners. All interested bidders were advised to view the items at Skypark Plaza along Waiyaki Way Nairobi County.

Further details on the auction can be accessed on the commission's website and the Public Procurement Information Portal (PPIP).

The Kenya Airports Authority will hold its auction from June 3 to June 10. Bidders will be allowed to view the items from May 29 to May 31 during working hours.

Some of the items on auction include; used vehicles, used furniture & seats, scrap metal, used fire extinguisher cylinders, general electro-mechanical parts, and general building hardware materials.

The auctions will be conducted at the Kenya Airports Authority headquarters, Wilson Airport, Kisumu International Airport and the Moi International Airport.

"All interested purchasers are requested to view the items as per the dates shown above and verify their respective details as these are not warranted by either the Auctioneer or KAA as the items are being offered for sale “As-is-where-is” basis. All the interested purchasers will be required to pay a deposit of Ksh25,000.00 per lot or item on auction," reads part of the notice from KAA.
