Kenyans who have uncollected items at different locations risk losing the property including vehicles and motorcycles in the next 20 days.
In notices from the different auctioneers, these items are held at the Naromoru Police Station, Kaiti Workshop in Mlolongo Mombasa Road, Auto Point Limited Ukunda, a rental house in Mombasa, and a warehouse along ICD Road in Nairobi County.
The auctions will be conducted by Urgent Cargo Logistics Limited, Spectrum auctioneers, Alfajiri auctioneers, Astorion auctioneers, Fantasy Auctioneers and Swiftway auctioneers.
Some of the items to be placed on auction include motor vehicles, motorcycles, beddings, assorted scrap metal, coffee tables, side tables, dining chairs, and nightstands among other assorted items.
Types of vehicles and motorcycles on auction include Toyota Ractis, Reloader, Tiger, Mercedes Truck, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Wish and Toyota100.
"Failure to collect the items, they shall be disposed of under the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act by public auction, the tender shall be defrayed against all accrued charges and the balance," read one of the notices.
According to auctioneers, the various auctions shall be conducted 30 days after the publishing of the notices.
The notices were published on May 24, May 9, May 20, May 28, May 29 and May 31. This gives the owners time to collect the said items within the stipulated timelines.
Additionally, all the owners will be required to pay the storage fee to the respective storage facilities.
This is among the numerous auctions announced in the past few months as storage facilities move to dispose of uncollected items and create space.
Government offices have been announcing plans to auction out vehicles and other assorted items which have been rendered unserviceable.
Kenyans purchasing items at an auction are advised to take caution and thoroughly inspect the items before making a purchase.
