Former Kesses Member of Parliament, Swarup Mishra has lost property worth millions after auctioneers raided a hospital he owns in Nakuru.
The auctioneers while acting on a court order, towed ten vehicles including cars and even a mini-bus which belonged to the hospital.
The order was issued after the hospital allegedly failed to pay Ksh53 million in pending salaries to 17 doctors.
The hospital was shut down last year due to financial constraints that plunged the facility into debt which culminated in several doctors going for months without being paid.
In the viral videos, the auctioneers could be seen towing away the vehicles including ambulances from the hospital compound.
Months before the order, Swarup had been directed to clear the bills, which he did not manage to do on time, prompting the court to issue the latest directive.
While commenting on the imminent auction in April, the politician termed the move as a political witch-hunt insisting that he would overcome it.
The initial notice outlined several properties belonging to the former legislator that were slated for sale to cover the debt he owns.
Among the properties that had been highlighted for auction included the tycoon's pieces of land and vehicles.
Mishra established his first hospital in 2005 in Eldoret town along the Nakuru -Eldoret highway. The success of the first hospital ended in him opening more branches.
In 2017, Mishra made his political debut, vying for Kesses parliamentary seat on a Jubilee ticket which he won.
In 2022, he sought to defend his seat as an independent candidate but was beaten by Julius Ruto of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
