The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection on Tuesday announced that it was recruiting 7,559 enumerators to work in 12 counties.
In a notice dated Tuesday, August 6, the Ministry revealed that the successful applicants will serve in the position for a period of 21 days.
They will carry out data collection in the 12 counties among then Uasin Gishu which requires 658 enumerators, Bomet (521), Nyeri (312), Nakuru (1,002), and Siaya (495).
Others are Kiambu (833), Nandi (432), Nairobi (1,495), Embu (276), Busia (730), Trans Nzoia (425), and Kericho (380).
Qualifications and Pay
For the enumerator jobs, all applicants must hold a C- (minus) grade in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and be proficient in computer literacy.
The candidates must also reside in the locations they are applying the jobs for and should understand the local language.
Successful candidates will be paid daily wages of Ksh1,000 and a transport allowance of Ksh500. The exercise is expected to last for 21 days compounding their earnings to Ksh31,500.
Supervisor Vacancies
The Ministry also announced that it will hire 762 supervisors from the aforementioned counties to work with enumerators.
The supervisors must possess a C (plain) grade in KCSE, be computer literate, and reside in the counties whose jobs they are applying for. The candidates must also be Community Health Volunteers and have held a position of leadership.
Supervisors will earn Ksh1,300 per day and a transport allowance of Ksh1,000 as well as airtime compounding their income to Ksh48,300.

"Hard copies shall not be accepted," directed the state. The deadline for applications is set for August 26, 2024.
