Kenyans in various parts of the country have been cautioned to brace for occasional rainfall over the next five days, particularly during the weekend.
In a five-day weather advisory between Friday, November 8 and Tuesday, November 12, the Kenya Meteorological Department advised residents living around the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast, and the North-eastern Kenya to prepare for rains, and with isolated storms possible in some areas.
The weatherman revealed that rainfall is expected in these regions during the first half of the forecast period running from November 8-November 10, with possible isolated storms.
The second half of the forecast period running between Monday and Tuesday next week is likely to be mostly sunny and dry.
In some locations, the rains will begin on Friday morning and extend to the night. According to the predictions, the rainfall will also stretch into the weekend, then extend into Monday and Tuesday. In Nairobi, the rains will occur on Saturday night, with the weatherman promising a warm Saturday morning.
Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Marsabit, Mandera, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties have been listed as counties to expect the rainfalls.
Locals living in the above counties were told to be cautious as the rains would be accompanied by occasional thunderstorms.
North Eastern regions of Turkana and Samburu counties have also been cautioned of the rains.
The country's capital city, Nairobi is also on the list, followed by Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, Machakos, Makueni, and other counties.
According to Kenya Met, the rains will occur occasionally during the mornings and nights. During the day, some regions will experience sunny days.
Nairobi County will experience maximum temperatures ranging from 28°C to 29°C during the day. The county will also experience minimum temperatures that will be relatively cooler.
The coast region will experience maximum temperatures ranging from 33°C to 34°C, with minimum temperatures ranging from 22°C to 25°C, indicating consistently warm weather.
Other counties that were cautioned to prepare for warmer temperatures include Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo, Kilifi, and Lamu, among others.
