Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, the spouse of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, on Saturday, sponsored a mass wedding of 84 individuals serving in the police force.
The event was held at St. Paul's University during the second annual Dorcas Rigathi Foundation (DRF) mass wedding ceremony which saw 84 couples officially tie the knot.
“This morning (Saturday), we witnessed another colourful Mass Wedding for our 84 police officers at 10:00 am at St. Paul University, Limuru,” Pastor Dorcas shared.
“This event marks a significant step in building strong family foundations, securing legal recognition and protection for families, and fostering joy,” she added.
In 2023, through her foundation, Pastor Dorcas solemnised the union of 32 couples in a uniformed mass wedding for security officers.
The colourful mass wedding was officiated by Bishop Moffat Kilioba of the Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa (PEFA) and Bishop Joseph Maisha of Ushindi Baptist Church.
Meanwhile, the sermon was delivered by Bishop Pius Muiru of Maximum Miracle Centre. Other key clergy and chaplains from various law enforcement agencies were also in attendance to witness the couples take their vows.
On her part, Pastor Dorcas blessed the couples hinting they would continue with the tradition of solemnizing marriages of officers in the security service.
“May your marriages be filled with love, faith, and countless blessings. Dorcas Rigathi Foundation looks forward to continuing this beautiful tradition next year!” She stated.
Vouching for a healthy marriage, Pastor Dorcas quoted Ecclesiastes 4:12 emphasizing the beauty of being in a solemnized union.
“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken,” she added.
The Dorcas Rigathi Foundation (DRF) was created to promote a ‘Digified Future’ for vulnerable populations.
“The foundation is committed to creating an equitable future and restoring socio-economic participation to the boy child, widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities in Kenya, through equal access to resources, skills, capabilities, and human and civil rights,” reads the foundation’s mission on its website.
