The Ministry of Education is set to offer a total of 217 scholarships to Kenyans seeking to study abroad.
Through a notice published in the government publication, MyGov, on Tuesday, November 19, the ministry announced that China and Hungary are set to offer scholarships in the undergraduate, Masters, and PhD levels for the upcoming 2025/2026 academic year.
“The Ministry is in receipt of communication from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nairobi informing that the Chinese Government is offering 17 scholarships to deserving Kenyan students to study undergraduate, Masters, and PhD for 2025/2026 academic year in China,” announced the Ministry.
“The government of Hungary has offered 200 scholarships to eligible Kenyans for the undergraduate, Masters, One-Tier Masters (OTM) and PhD studies,” the Ministry announced.
For the scholarships in China, the Ministry revealed that interested persons could visit the Ministry’s website and China’s higher education website. “The details of the scholarship and application procedure are available on the ministry’s website,” they declared.
In addition, the Ministry also notified the public of the deadline for submission of the application forms, urging them to adhere to the guidelines.
“The standard and online application forms should reach the Ministry no later than Friday, December 6, by 5:00pm,” they announced.
For the Hungary scholarships, the ministry notified the public of details of the study programmes and host institutions which can all be found on the system’s website.
“The study programmes and Host Institutions are accessible on the online application system’s website which will be accessible as of November 15, 2024,” the Ministry notified.
Further, the ministry urged interested persons to access the ministry’s website to get more information. “Interested candidates are requested to visit the Ministry of Education website for detailed information,” they stated.
In addition, the education ministry also issued a deadline for submission of the application forms. “The standard and online application forms should reach the ministry no later than Friday, January 17, 2025, by 5:00pm,” the ministry notified.
The Stipendium Hungaricum, is a prestigious higher education full scholarship programme of the Hungarian Government, and it offers a wide range of courses for international students of excellent academic track record. Kenyans are able to be beneficiaries of this scholarship after a partnership between the Kenyan and Hungarian governments.
