In a poignant plea to the government, a desperate mother has begged the authorities to help find her son, Brian Odhiambo, who has been missing for six days following his abduction by Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) officers.
Speaking on Friday, January 24, Elizabeth Auma expressed her grief and fear, urging the government to intervene and take swift action to bring her son home.
"I have not eaten since my son went missing, I beg the KWS officers, please give me back my son, even if he is dead, bring me the body, let me see my son, I beg you," she pleaded with the KWS officers.
Auma revealed that being the first child, Odhiambo is the family's breadwinner, and his absence has affected them immensely.
"I cannot sleep at night, I stay awake hoping that maybe even if they have broken his legs he will crawl and knock on the door asking for us to open it for him," Auma painfully narrated.
According to Odhiambo's mother, he went missing on Saturday, January 18 and since then he has not been found. The mother revealed that they have not received any reports regarding Brian's arrest or his whereabouts.
His wife Ivy Aoko also called for his release saying they have two children who depend on him.
Odhiambo's mother denied reports that six KWS officers had been arrested on Thursday in connection with the incident, saying they had not seen anyone arrested.
The man's disappearance has sparked chaos and protests in Nakuru, with stakeholders calling for his release.
Protests have been witnessed for three consecutive days, with the peak occurring on Thursday when police lobbed teargas into a school while attempting to disperse the protesters.https://www.kenyans.co.ke/news/108317-lake-nakuru-park-set-fire-during-brian-odhiambos-disappearance-protests
Odhiambo is said to have gone missing after entering the protected area of Lake Nakuru National Park. His goal was fishing, which is illegal.
