Kenyans said increased corruption, poor service delivery in key sectors, and a lack of transparency and accountability were the key reasons behind the drop in performance of the governors and counties.
As for the governors, those who responded to the survey attributed the influence over allocation and use of public funds as the main reason behind their ranking.
The other factors that have contributed to the various performances of the governors are transparency and accountability, delivery of campaign promises, initiation of development projects, and accessibility and responsiveness to constituents.
