CCTV footage has emerged capturing the final moments of British businessman Campbell Scott before his disappearance and the subsequent discovery of his body.
The 58-year-old was last seen walking through a car park, dressed in a blue top featuring the Scotland flag on his sleeve and casual shorts—suggesting he was running informal errands in the moments leading up to his disappearance.
In the footage, Scott, originally from Dunfermline, Fife, is seen carrying several items in his hand, with his glasses resting on his head.
Hours after the video was recorded, he vanished, with his associate reporting him missing later that day.
In the hours leading up to his disappearance, witnesses say, Scott, who worked as a senior director for the credit scoring company FICO, had been socialising at several pubs and clubs and was in high spirits.
He also attended a business conference at a prestigious hotel in Westlands, Nairobi, where his colleagues raised the alarm after he failed to return. The conference was scheduled to run for several days.
On the morning of his disappearance, he went for a walk at around 11:15 a.m. He was due to make a presentation at the conference, but when he failed to show up, his friends grew concerned—especially after multiple attempts to reach him between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on February 17 went unanswered.
Days after going missing, the businessman's body was discovered wrapped in a sack in Makueni by herders in gruesome scenes.
His hands and legs were bound, indicating that he had been murdered elsewhere before his body was dumped in a forest in Wote, Makueni County.
Scott's parent company, FICO, has since confirmed his death in a statement, requesting privacy as investigations continue.
"FICO can confirm that Nairobi police have identified the body of Campbell Scott, a FICO employee. Campbell went missing last Sunday while on a business trip to Nairobi. We are not sharing further details, as the investigation is in the hands of the police," the statement read.
A post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death is scheduled for Tuesday, February 25.
