The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced plans to train examiners for the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) test for Grade 9 candidates.

In a notice published on Tuesday, March 4, the examination council revealed that the training would be conducted between March and April this year after the ongoing applications are done.

The training sessions will cost Ksh10,500 and KNEC stated that only shortlisted teachers will be notified on how to make payments.

The training will first be conducted online and later on in person, during which the trainees will be directed on how to access the online training materials.

According to KNEC, the venue for the training will be communicated to the qualified teachers in due course, but the training exercise will be strictly residential.

Qualified examiners will thereafter be engaged by KNEC to mark KJSEA assessments based on the personnel needs for each paper.

Procedure of Application for Training

Teachers seeking to apply for the training sessions were told to access the KNEC examiners’ portal using the link; examinersapp.knec.ac.ke

According to the examination council, those with CP2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords.

The Contracted Professionals (CP2) portal is a system that allows KNEC to manage all its officers, including examiners, to ensure accountability.

Those who have forgotten their CP2 passwords should click on the reset password button and enter their mobile number in the format (2547********) before submitting it to receive new passwords for logging into the system.

Meanwhile, those without CP2 accounts should click on ‘create account’ and follow the instructions to acquire login credentials to access the system.

Upon successful login, applicants will complete their profile and save it. On the dashboard, click on ‘apply for training,’ and all the declared vacancies will be available for applicants to choose from and apply.
