Moja Expressway Company has announced that Mlolongo Toll Station and Syokimau Entrance A will be closed from 12 April to 13 April.
In a notice made available to the public, the company stated that the road will be closed from Saturday, 12 April at 10 p.m. until Sunday, 13 April at 8 a.m.
The statement also mentioned that the closure is to pave the way for the ongoing construction of the pedestrian overpass at the Katani area.
“Please note that Mlolongo Toll Station and Syokimau Entrance A (opposite Dinlas Pharma) will remain closed from Saturday, 12 April at 10 p.m. to Sunday, 13 April at 8 a.m. to pave the way for the ongoing construction of the pedestrian overpass at the Katani area,” the statement read.
Motorists using the Mlolongo and Syokimau Entrance A are advised to use the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) entrance.
The company also provided directions for motorists heading towards Mlolongo to use the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) exit.
“CBD-bound motorists using the Mlolongo & Syokimau Entrance A are advised to use the SGR entrance, while Mlolongo-bound motorists are advised to use the JKIA exit,” the notice added.
In the statement, the expressway company asked drivers to plan their trips as the closure will affect traffic.
“Please plan your trips accordingly, as the closure will significantly affect traffic. Apologies for the inconvenience caused and thank you for choosing the Nairobi Expressway,” the statement said.
On the other hand, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) announced a temporary traffic disruption along the Thika Superhighway at Kihunguro in Kiambu County.
In a notice dated Thursday, 10 April, KeNHA Director General Kung’u Ndung’u attributed the disruption to planned maintenance works along the affected section of the highway.
According to Ndung’u, the maintenance will take place over four days—from Friday, 11 April, to Monday, 14 April, 2025.
He revealed that the section of the highway will be closed daily between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. throughout the maintenance period.
