Kenyans on social media are currently trolling politicians after Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known on YouTube as Mr Beast, brought his cavalry to Kenya in his latest project.

Titled Watch This Video To Feed 1 Person in Need, the video's premise was not unlike his previous humanitarian acts captured on videos that have garnered him 384 million subscribers on the video site.

Kicking off his April 12 video, Mr Beast brought his team to a Kenyan school, promising to feed as many people as the views garnered from the video

"You watching this video will supply farmland, build massive kitchens and build schools with food for their students and save children from child labour," he declared.

True to his word, the YouTuber joined cooks and teachers at the school to prepare popular school meals, including porridge and githeri, for the over 500 schoolchildren and promised to keep the programme going by providing breakfast and lunch daily.

"The more of you that watch this video, the longer we will be able to keep that programme going," he promised.

As a result of this promise, Mr Beast noted that the school attendance skyrocketed, leading to his next big project at the school, which involved bringing in more desks for the students who had resorted to sitting on the classroom floors.

A truck filled to the brim with news desks soon parked in the school compound and was welcomed by the cheers from the pupils, who had been accustomed to four of them sharing a desk made for two.

Next, a new, bigger, and more modern kitchen was constructed in the school to facilitate the two-meal-a-day programme. A well, a water storage tank, a greenhouse, and a farm were also added to ensure that the school did not go without food.

Mr Beast also announced that he had partnered with massive farms in the region to ensure that schools around would receive fresh produce for their meals. The farms are divided into two parts, with one part providing meals for the schools and the other for the community.

For these farms, he got them a tractor to speed up the farming process. He further bought a lorry for the school to ensure that the food is transported efficiently to the school. At the end of the Kenyan section, Mr Beast left the school with enough food for 100,000 meals.

In true fashion, Kenyans took to social media to criticise politicians in the area who had neglected the schools necessitating this intervention, with one X user alleging, "Mr Beast has done what the KK government could not achieve in 30 years."

Another added, "It’s sad that despite having an MCA, MP, Senator, and Governor, the area is still so neglected that Mr Beast has to step in and do what leaders should’ve done long ago."

Citing the incident where the county government of Turkana demolished a classroom built by comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi, others alleged that some politicians would be feeling salty for this as well.

"You will find an MP or MCA angry that Mr Beast brought donations to their area," one such user commented.

Others even chided President William Ruto, claiming that he had started making plans to go and launch the projects Mr Beast brought.
