Nairobi, Kiambu and Mombasa Among Counties That Will Experience Continued Rain This Week

According to the Kenya Meteorological Department, rainfall is expected to continue in most parts of the country in the next five days.

In its weekly forecast, which it released on Monday, June 2, the weatherman predicted that Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central Rift Valley, and the Coast will receive rain between Tuesday, June 3, and Saturday, June 3.

It is predicted that during this period, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi Counties will experience cloudy weather breaking into sunny intervals in the morning for most of the week, except on Tuesday, when there might be chances of rain in a few places.

In the afternoon and nights, residents in these counties are expected to have showers in a few places, except for Saturday night when it is expected to be partly cloudy.

According to the weatherman, the maximum temperatures in these areas will be 27°C, while the minimum temperature is set to be 5°C.

Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta Counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County, are set to experience clouds breaking into sunny intervals throughout the week in the morning and sunny intervals on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday afternoons.  Showers are expected to hit a few places on Thursday and Friday afternoons.

Partly cloudy conditions are set to prevail at night throughout the week in these counties.

The maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 31°C, while the minimum temperature will be  10°C.

Residents in Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, are expected to receive showers over a few places for most mornings, afternoons, and nights, except for  Saturday morning and Tuesday afternoon, when sunny intervals are likely to be experienced. Tuesday night is expected to be partly cloudy.

These counties are expected to experience a maximum temperature of 32°C, while the minimum temperatures will be  23°C.

Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot Counties are predicted to have sunny intervals in the morning this week, except Tuesday, when rains over a few places are expected.

Showers and thunderstorms are set to be experienced throughout the week in the afternoon, while on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights, residents in these areas are set to receive showers in a few places, except on Wednesday and Saturday nights.  

The maximum temperatures during this period are expected to be 30°C, while the minimum temperatures will be  10°C.

Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo Counties are expected to be sunny during the day throughout the week, while nights are also predicted to remain partly cloudy. The maximum temperatures in these regions are predicted to be 38°C, while the minimum temperatures will be  16°C.

Lastly, Turkana and Samburu Counties are expected to be sunny during the day for most parts of the week and partly cloudy during most nights.

The maximum temperatures in these areas are set to be  39°C, while the minimum temperatures are expected to be  16°C.
