A student from Njenga Karume Secondary School in Molo, Nakuru County, was shot dead on Wednesday, June 25, during a protest linked to the anniversary of last year's Gen Z-led demonstrations.

According to the report, the incident happened when police officers attempted to disperse the crowd by opening fire on the protesters.

Four other young protesters were injured, with two in critical condition, so they were rushed to the hospital.

After the shooting of the students, the confrontation between police and the demonstrators erupted.

The demonstrators carried the deceased's body through the streets, chanting slogans against the government.

The killing of the student made the public angry, as they demanded sweeping police reform.

Meanwhile, in Nakuru City, protesters lit fires along the Nakuru–Nairobi highway near Kabarak, affecting traffic, which was later turned off by police officers.

During today's demonstrations, Nairobi, Nyeri, Kisumu, Mombasa, and other towns experienced clashes, where several citizens were killed while others were injured.

In Nairobi’s Central Business District, police used tear gas, batons, and water cannons to disperse the crowd.

A young man and a child were shot by a police officer from the Villa Police Station as police were dispersing protesters in Mukuru Kwa Njenga, Nairobi.

According to the report, at least ten gunshot victims were admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital, though the identity of the shooters remains unclear.

This incident happened after the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) had been at the forefront of ceasing police shooting protesters while they are demonstrating, with many Kenyans dying in the process.
