The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption along Jogoo Road and Nyasa Road this coming weekend.

In a notice issued on Monday, July 14, the authority revealed that this disruption would take place between Friday, July 18 at 10pm and Monday, July 21 at 11pm.

According to KURA, it will utilise this time to facilitate road construction, specifically culvert installation works.

"Kenya Urban Roads Authority seeks to inform the general public of a temporary traffic disruption along Jogoo Road and Nyasa Road from 10:00 PM on Friday, 18th July 2025 to 11:00 PM on Monday, 21st July 2025. This interruption is necessary to facilitate culvert installation works," the notice read.

To ensure motorists still arrive at their destinations, KURA urged them to adhere to roads signs provided and exercise caution while driving on the two roads during this period.

Traffic marshals will also be on the premises to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and that drivers are advised accordingly.

"Motorists are advised to exercise caution when approaching the affected section and to follow all road signs provided. Police officers and traffic marshals will be on site to ensure a smooth flow of traffic," the notice read in part.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused as we continue to Transform Urban Mobility."

This is the latest traffic disruption which will see motorists in Nairobi seek alternative routes for their daily commutes or be caught up in traffic.

On June 18, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) announced the temporary closure of a section of Mombasa Road between General Motors Roundabout and the Southern Bypass Interchange at Ole Sereni for one week.

The closure was to only affect the Nairobi-bound carriageway.

Carried out between July 5 and July 12, the week-long closure was aimed at facilitating essential highway maintenance work along the section.
