Former Senior Advisor in President William Ruto's administration, Moses Kuria, has dismissed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's claims of funding Maina Njenga.

Taking to his X account on Saturday afternoon, Kuria sarcastically brushed off Gachagua's allegations, claiming that the former DP himself has a history of deceptive political tactics.

In his remarks, the former CS criticised Gachagua for reportedly pretending to be righteous despite having done worse things, adding that he had first-hand information about the former DP's deeds.

According to Kuria, he learnt about some of Gachagua's ill intentions during a past meeting with him when the latter was in President Ruto's administration.

"Rigathi Gachagua has accused me during his tour of the US of funding and supporting Maina Njenga. I am guilty as charged. I learnt from the best," the former CS alleged.

Kuria's response comes hours after Gachagua called on Mt Kenya residents to remain vigilant, particularly against Moses Kuria, whom he claimed was out to divide the region.

The former Deputy President went on to urge residents to carefully observe political messages coming from Kuria, alleging that such endorsements often align with Ruto's political ambition.

"When you see a party or an individual like Moses Kuria praising certain ideas or directions, understand that it is aligned with what the President wants,” Gachagua noted.

“This is not accidental. There is a calculated political strategy to divide Mt Kenya votes into two blocs. Unfortunately, some of our own are being used to achieve this," he added.

Gachagua's remarks came just days after Kuria resigned from his role as Ruto's Senior Economic Advisor, sparking speculation about his decision to step down.

In a statement on July 8, he expressed gratitude to the Head of State for granting him the opportunity to serve in his administration and for accepting his resignation.

"This evening I have met my boss and my friend, President William Ruto. The President has graciously accepted my decision to resign from government," Kuria announced.

"I thank President Ruto for having allowed me to serve as Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry for 11 months, Public Service, Delivery and Performance Management for 9 months, and Senior Economic Advisor for the last 10 months."
