Popular YouTuber Mr Beast is leading a huge project called "TeamWater" to raise money for clean drinking water in several countries.

Mr Beast said that he wants to collect Ksh5.1 billion ($40,000,000) to help 2 million people get clean water.

One of the countries that will get help is Kenya.

"TeamWater will reach a large number of people in urban centres in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Kenya, Nigeria, Mozambique, Rwanda, and Tanzania, where economic and climate migration is putting pressure on water supplies," his statement reads.

He said that WaterAid is working on improving and extending pipe networks to bring homes, communities, schools and health centres onto the water grid.

He added that lack of access to water increases the risk of disease in many countries.

"GivePower will build a water desalination system to increase the supply of clean drinking water. This will ensure reliable access to water when and where people need it," he added.

In the statement, Mr. Beast revealed that he is collaborating with many other online creators, stated that they are working together to raise this money in August.

They told their fans that for about Ksh127 ($1) a person gives, it will give someone clean water for a whole year. This is to raise enough money to give 2 million people clean water for a very long time.

This is not the first time Mr. Beast has done a project like this. Before, he raised millions of dollars to plant trees and clean up the ocean.

For this new project, TeamWater is working with groups that have a lot of experience building water systems. They will use the money to dig wells and build water pipes in places that need them most.

He revealed that their plan is to create solutions that last for many years, helping communities stay healthy and strong.
