Six companies have announced a mass auction of items that have not been collected by their owners. According to a statement by auctioneers, if their owners do not come to collect the items within 30 days, they will be sold.
In a gazette notice dated August 15, the auctioneers listed items including cars, motorcycles, household goods and electronics.
Among the cars for sale are a Toyota Wish, a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Prado Land Cruiser. There is also a Honda CR-V, a Mitsubishi L200 and a Peugeot 504.
Makys Auctioneers, one of the companies holding an auction for uncollected items, will sell goods from the Archer's Post Police Yard. The sale has been authorised by a court of law.
The company has stated that any items, including cars, motorcycles and bicycles, that are not collected within 14 days will be sold at auction.
Owners have until then to collect their property.
Two other auctions will take place at the Illasit and Imbirikani police yards. Owners of items at these locations have 21 days to collect their property.
Items to be auctioned include motorcycles, solar batteries and cars such as a Toyota Vitz and a Mercedes Actros.
Other companies are also holding auctions, including Regent Auctioneers, who will be selling a Toyota Starlet. Realtime Estates will sell a Peugeot 504. Peywa Auctioneers will sell two large trailers. Devine Solutions will auction two Samsung TVs.
Finally, Makini Auctioneers Agencies has been authorised by a court order to auction a significant number of vehicles and motorcycles from Bamburi Police Station.
These include various Toyota models such as the Allion, Harrier and Corolla, as well as numerous motorcycles. Owners must collect their property and pay the fees within 30 days to prevent their items from being sold at a public auction.
Owners are urged to collect their items within this timeframe to avoid this outcome.
