Following the fire, first responders from the City County, including firefighters, responded quickly to the emergency, swiftly containing the flames and preventing further damage.

According to the Kamukunji Voice, the community is already making plans for aid, temporary shelter, and essential supplies for the affected families, which are already underway.

In videos and images obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, the members of the community were seen looking on at the aftermath of the inferno as some tried to salvage any property.

Notably, this is the second fire in as many days in the area.

On Tuesday, a fire broke out in the Shauri Moyo area of Pumwani, and firefighters quickly responded, working tirelessly to contain the blaze.

The efforts worked, as there were no reported fatalities or severe injuries.

Thick clouds of smoke were seen in videos seen by Kenyans.co.ke, showing the moments the fire ravaged through houses in the area.

In a nutshell, the area is fast becoming accustomed to frequent fire outbreaks.

Earlier this year, in May, a fire broke out at around 3:00am, razing several stalls in the footwear section adjacent to Lamu Road in Pumwani, Majengo.
